Tour 1 Technical ExperienceThis tour will have 2 stops, described
below. Stop 2 - real, Future Store:
The METRO Group Future Store Initiative
was founded in 2002 to push forward the modernization process within the
retail industry and develop practical concepts for tomorrow's shopping
experience. The central platform this initiative is the real,- Future Store
in Toenisvorst, which opened in May 2008. This hypermarket of tomorrow
provides a real-life environment for initiative partners to test and develop
new technologies and concepts until they are ready for wide-scale

Aerospace & Defense Industry action groupAerospace & Defense Industry Action
Group is focused on facilitating the industry adoption of EPC-based
technologies throughout its supply chains with the intent of increasing
object visibility, integrity, safety of equipment and personnel, operational
readiness & efficiency, security of consumers & operators, and
efficient movement that result from unique identification and secure
information exchange. This meeting will address these requirements
specifically around Data Exchange, Tag Performance, Global Operability, and
Education and Awareness. consumer electronics industry action group
The group will discuss the high-level business
processes and use cases developed for specific CE industry needs. CE industry
requirements which could potentially lead to the amendment of existing
EPCglobal standards will be presented. The meeting will also provide industry
representatives with the opportunity to discuss real world business
challenges that can be solved using EPC and RFID technology based upon
EPCglobal standards. EPCIS Core Business Vocabulary Work Group
This SAG work group is developing a
standard business vocabulary for use in event data sharing (EPCIS) This
business vocabulary will be critical to the successful usage of EPCIS as it
is the common "language" that trading partners will use to ensure that data
captured when a business event occurs can be shared effectively. The
requirements for this standard originated in the Data Exchange Joint
Requirements Group and have been passed to this group as part of the
EPCglobal Standards Development Process. new member orientation & standards development process overviewA bird's eye view of the EPCglobal Standards
Development Process, an introduction to EPCglobal, our website and the
standards development groups. EPC/RFID Community Web platformEPCglobal will prototype a Wikipedia
type platform for integration into the EPCglobal.org website. Those
interested in participating in the prototype phase should attend as well as
those interested in providing input to the development of this
tool. learnings from the bridge programmeBRIDGE (Building Radio Frequency
IDentification for the Global Environment) is a European Union funded 3-year
Integrated Project addressing ways to resolve the barriers to the
implementation of RFID in Europe, based upon GS1 EPCglobal standards. During
this JAG session, we will present the latest progress of the BRIDGE project,
focusing on the lessons learnt from some of the BRIDGE pilots. Education and
dissemination tools developed within the project will also be presented,
including a portable demonstration and a complete programme of
E-learning. Transportation & Logistics Services Chain of Custody Task GroupDiscuss data Security / physical
security; Security initiatives 10+2 Ctpat, CSI; Combination of business and
identification data (logical, physical, and AutoID). Session work is planned
as follows: Transportation & Logistics Services outreach task group
The objective of the Transportation and
Logistics Outreach Task Group to identify benefits of EPC/RFID in the
transportation and logistics environment and develop a program to increase
awareness of EPCglobal goals and objectives. Come to this session to learn
more about the group's current focus and activities. Transportation & Logistics Services Transportation Work groupThe Transportation Work Group will work
towards the successful deployment of RFID utilizing the EPCglobal Network in
supply chain applications. Session work is planned as
follows: Book Industry discussion (private for gs1 Member Organization only)One of the key questions to be resolved
is the technical integration of the ISBN numbering into EPC, which requires
alignment within GS1 prior to sharing the question with Users. For this
reason, attendance is limited to GS1 MO Staff. Intro
to EPCglobal Architecture & Interface standards, Software & Hardware
Demos
The EPCglobal community has created
numerous standards and outlined an IT architecture framework to enable
companies to share EPC data in a common and secure format. This session will
explain the standards that have been ratified, the overall architecture in
which they are implemented and how companies can use EPC standards and the
architecture to improve their supply chain. Requirements to attend: EPCglobal Subscribers and Guests certification advisory council
Purpose is to advice and provide input
to the certification program. It is open to all subscribers. The main topics
covered at this session will be: Program Updates, Relaunch, Complaint
Process. tag data translation standard work groupThis session will now be open to all
subscribers and guests to discuss latest improvements to TDS 1.5: User
Memory, TID Memory, better alignment with General Specification, and filter
bits. Transportation & Logistics Services pilot task group
TLS Phase III pilot - Japan to
Netherlands. A working session will
be held to review the progress of the Phase III pilot to date, outstanding
issues, and pilot implementation schedule. Mobile Com
Main goal of the session would be to
raise awareness of future applications of EPC and consumer-available mobile
devices. Specifically, you will learn what GS1 Mobile Com is, what are the
current activities of the GS1 Mobile Com Work Group and how EPC/RFID is
relevant to GS1 Mobile Com. Implementation Sharing - End User Obstacles & OpportunitiesThis session will provide the results
of a recent survey of EPCglobal subscribers designed to identify and
prioritize implementation obstacles and opportunities. In addition,
experienced implementers will share real world advice based on the survey
results to provide guidance to address obstacles and take advantage of
opportunities. Liquids & metals Interest Group
The objectives of the L&M IG are to
develop and to provide guidelines based on new technology to assure business,
acceptable reading performance of EPC tags on products that contain liquids
and metals either in the products or in the products' packaging materials.
This will be the kick-off session of this new group. RFID based Electronic article surveillance Joint Requirements GroupFinalize
remaining open items or questions on the RFID based EAS JRG Group
document. Tag Alteration for Consumer Usage joint requirements groupKick-off meeting for this new JRG. The
group will develop terminology and requirements related to the deactivation
of noneasily - removable EPC RFID tags. plenary Session
The Plenary session will provide
updates on the progress on the usage of standardized EPC/RFID technology in
key industries including Transport & Logistics, Consumer Electronics,
Aerospace & Defense, Retail & Consumer Products and Apparel.
We will update the community on current
developments including development of standards for RFID enabled Electronic
Article Surveillance and Active Tagging and the EPCglobal role in the
Internet of Things. There will also
be important information shared about the public policy activities with
legislators and regulatory bodies, important pilots being completed around
the world, the value of the extended certification program as well as the
on-going commitment to drive and support adoption worldwide. JAG Networking Night at Godesburg CastleThe JAG Networking Night will be held
in the relaxing atmosphere of the Castle of Godesburg, which is situated atop
a hill overlooking the city of Bonn and the Rhein. Attendees will enjoy an
opening reception followed by dinner with German specialties, entertainment
and networking activities. Customer is Key - is the theme of the
night. Activities will emphasis the importance of consumers accepting
EPC/RFID technology. For those who choose not to take the

Germany. Active tagging joint requirements group
The Active Tagging Joint Requirements
Group is focused on standard Air Interface Protocols and exchange of relevant
business data. The meeting will provide an update on the process for the Air
Interface Protocol requirements now that the Last Call Working Draft
Requirements (LCWDR) are completed and ready to proceed to the next steps. We
will also further examine the data elements used within active tagging for
the contributing Industry Action Groups and feedback on which are being

provided posted soon. Discovery Joint Requirements Group Overview (open session)An overview of what Discovery Services
solutions can support and the business benefits, the process for developing a
Discovery Service protocol standard and the charter of the Data Discovery
JRG. Data Discovery Joint Requirements Group
Cross-industry, use case and business
requirements development for Data Discovery Standard. This standard will be
critical to enabling full visibility across supply chains globally. The
Discovery Services Standard: Implementation Sharing interest groupThe objective of the Implementation
Sharing IG is to provide end-user companies with practical and timely
information needed as they prepare for EPC/RFID Implementation projects. Come
to this session to learn more about the group's current focus and
activities. Closing Plenary - Public Policy &
group updates
PPSC update will include: a review of
recent policy conferences including the EC-US RFID Symposium in Washington,
DC and the French Presidency of the EC conference on the Internet of Things;
an update on US state legislative initiatives and the status of the EC's
Recommendation on RFID; and information on new PPSC projects. Report outs
